Agreement to Terms

By using LetsChat ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the App. If the user is under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms on their behalf. A child under 13 may use LetsChat only with a parent or guardian's permission, which is given during setup, and a parent or guardian should set up and operate the account.

Description of Service

LetsChat is a free, AI-powered assistive communication application designed for people who communicate differently, including non-verbal and cognitively-impaired teens, young adults, and children. The App provides multiple ways to respond to AI characters, text-to-speech functionality, and customizable conversation topics. LetsChat is a communication aid, not a medical device.

User Eligibility

LetsChat is designed for people who communicate differently, including children. Children under 13 may use the App only with permission from a parent or guardian, which is captured during initial setup, and a parent or guardian should set up and supervise the account. Users under 18 should use the App under the guidance of a parent, caregiver, or guardian.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use LetsChat only for its intended purpose as a communication and engagement tool. You agree not to:

• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the App
• Use the App to generate harmful, abusive, or inappropriate content
• Attempt to bypass security measures or access server-side systems
• Redistribute or resell the App or its content

AI-Generated Content

Conversations in LetsChat are powered by AI language models. While we design prompts to be safe, supportive, and age-appropriate, AI responses are generated dynamically and may occasionally produce unexpected content. LetsChat is an assistive communication aid — it is not a medical device, and it is not a substitute for professional speech-language, behavioral, or mental-health therapy.

Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy for exactly what we collect. In summary: no accounts required, conversations stay on your device, chats are processed in real time by our AI providers (OpenAI for replies, ElevenLabs for voices) and never used to train their models, and we don't track users for advertising.

Intellectual Property

LetsChat, including its design, code, AI prompts, and content, is the intellectual property of LetsChat. AI character names, personas, and topic content are proprietary. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the App without permission.

Availability and Updates

We strive to keep LetsChat available and up-to-date, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may update, modify, or discontinue features at any time. Cloud-based features (AI chat, premium voices) require an internet connection.

Limitation of Liability

LetsChat is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to AI-generated content, service interruptions, or data loss on your device.

Caregiver Responsibilities

Caregivers who create custom topics or modify settings through the Admin panel are responsible for ensuring content is appropriate for their user. LetsChat provides tools for content management but does not monitor custom content. Custom characters and scenarios a caregiver creates are included in what is sent to our AI provider during chats (see the Privacy Policy), so avoid putting personal details in them.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
